VA412 – Kennington – Veterinary Surgeon

Welcome to cracking Kennington! This practice has well and truly taken off thanks to its experienced senior vet and support team, resulting in the need for a permanent additional second vet to come on board! Its high surgical case load would be ideal for a first opinion GP vet looking for more surgical caseload. This role offers a great rota with alternate Mondays and Fridays off, 1 day per week totalling 10 hours, and the other 3 weekdays days are 8 hours. The weekend rotation is 1:4 branch Saturdays, and 1:10 hospital Sundays, plus up to 2 bank holidays per year. There are NO on-call requirements. As well as a fantastic close-knit team including a senior vet, senior RVN, incredible trainee nurses and integral reception support, you will also be fully supported by a dedicated regional manager, and incredibly experience regional head vet. Kennington is equipped with everything you would need, including ultrasound facilities, ideal for a vet with a keen interest in diagnostic imaging. You will also have the addition of support from Stone Lion 24-hour Hospital in Wimbledon, for more complex cases and OOH care for your patients.Kennington is a fast-paced clinic, that would suit a vet who is no stranger to a busy environment, and able to competently manage any emergency cases as well as a large GP caseload. If exotics are your passion but you haven’t had the opportunity to explore this further, this role could be ideal for you. At Ilford we can provide a supportive working environment that can enable you to pursue with your personal development via CPD and certificates. You will be fully supported by an experienced RVN and passionate trainee nurse, as well as your regional manager who is integral in the running of the region and there for additional support. Although sole charge, we also have our fantastic and incredibly experienced regional head vet, for any clinical support you may need. Before we delve into the nitty gritty, here is what we offer you: The salary band for this position depending on prior experience is £45,000 to £58,000 (full-time equivalent). There are short periods of crossover with the senior vet, so you will need to be comfortable with working sole charge. Your rota will involve: Mondays 9am-7pm (sole charge) Tuesdays 12pm-7pm, Fridays 12pm-7pm plus a 1:3 branch Saturday rotation, 1:8 Sundays and 1 bank holiday at Wanstead hospital. If you were looking for full-time hours, we can accommodate this with a 4-day week with every Thursday off. Tottenham is a buzzing first opinion practice with new clients wishing to register on a regular basis, along with its long-standing client base. Tottenham’s charm is aided by its incredible support team, including an amazing senior nurse and dedicated student and trainee nurses. When at Tottenham you will overlap one day with a senior vet, and sole charge on the other. When at South Woodford you will work closely with their highly experienced senior vet on both days and will have an incredible established nursing support team. You will be fully supported by our highly experienced regional manager, whose support is invaluable to her branches, as well as a regional head vet for clinical management support you may need. You will also be supported by our Wanstead 24-hour hospital to refer more complex cases, and their own rotating night team provides your patients with invaluable OOH care. Tottenham is perfectly situated, within a 5-minute walk from Bruce Grove over-ground which takes you straight into London Liverpool Street, or a 15-minute walk from Tottenham Hale station which picks up the Victoria Line to take you down to South London including Kings Cross. South Woodford is again ideally situated within an 8-minute walk to the Central Line, and close to the bustling High-street with ample restaurants and bars for your down time! They are both also within a short drive to beautiful Epping Forest for that countryside relief!
