VA477 – Soft Tissue Veterinary Surgeon

Welcome to Wanstead Veterinary Hospital. Our largest 24-hour hospital in the group is looking for a soft tissue surgeon who is wishing to step into a purely surgical position, on a full-time basis. Working 40 hours per week inclusive of weekend rotation, you will support the team with their soft tissue cases, working alongside our experienced team of theatre RVNs. You will be rota’ d to 2 bank holidays per year to support the hospital on those key dates throughout the year. The hospital performs all surgery from GP to referral level including SUB placement, liver resections and thoracic surgery. The hospital also benefits from having multiple cautery units including a harmonic scalpel and a full laparoscopy/thoracoscopy/endoscopy kit. Wanstead Veterinary Hospital provides an excellent first opinion, emergency, critical care, and referral service to our clients and local network of 20 branches and work to the highest clinical standards. VA476 – Student Veterinary Nurse

We are looking for confident and experienced future colleagues who come from a nursing assistant background, that are now ready to start their journey as student veterinary nurses, with Goddard Vet Group at our very own Nursing College. Our college is based in Woodford Essex, and you would be required to attend your lectures on site every other week, in addition to any exams/practical sessions. The student positions are full-time consisting of 40 hours per week, including your weekly college day and weekend rotation. As experienced veterinary nursing assistants you will be used to day-to-day practice life and are now ready to take on additional student responsibilities and training. The role is varied, involving and high level of client care which includes reception duties, the cleaning and upkeep of the practice and its equipment/facilities, and of course the hands-on patient care. It can also involve working between different branches within a commutable distance, including our hospital sites. You will be rota ‘d to 1 bank holiday per year in the Mandeville Hospital. You would be supported by an experienced part-time senior vet who works 10am-2pm, and experienced RVN and trainee nurses. You will also have the support of our invaluable regional manager, and newly appointed regional head vet for any of those clinical queries! As well as being equipped with everything you would expect, the practice is kitted out perfectly for a vet with a surgical bias, as our previous vet was an orthopaedic surgeon. The roles involve a high level of face-to-face contact with our clients, so you must have the confidence, empathy, and experience to provide the standard of care and the personal touch we expect for our clients. The roles involve shift work, with the latest shift up to 10.30pm and a regular weekend rotation. Due to the nature of the role, part-time hours can be across different days each week, and a level of flexibility is required. As well as a high level of face-to-face client care, there is also a large amount of phone and written communication to our clients, and these methods of communication must be treated as equally as professionally. You will also be responsible for day-to-day administrative tasks such as managing the email inbox, paperwork filing, daily banking and liaising with insurance companies.
